Leaving your small town and moving to San Diego.
I would love to know all about San Diego and maybe even some pros and cons. I want to get out of my small town and San Diego has been at the top of my list for years, I've always been so drawn to it.
Want to start a blog?
I really want to hear about how you started this up and tips you would give to others who would want to!
My take.
I am also from a small town up in Alaska. Growing up I loved the beach, but never expected to move here. I’ve only been here since September of 2025, but here are some things I’ve loved, and hated. To start with some things I love, San Diego has the friendliest people. Everyone here is so welcoming, and there is a high chance you’ll make friends with your neighbors! There is also so many great things to do, and even if you don’t have the money to go on some grand adventure, there is always the beach. Another thing I’ve loved is how active everyone is. Prior to moving down here I feel my only form of exercise was hiking, but now I am out walking, running, working out, and doing yoga in the park whenever I can. There is some sort of subconscious motivation I got from seeing everyone else getting so healthy. Which leads me into some of the things I don’t love. I am 19 years old, and despite being able to go out from time to time, I feel like I am the youngest one here (not going to school). The crowd you see on the daily is a lot of post graduate, mid-twenty somethings. Along with San Diego being very expensive. If I could go back and change anything, I wouldn’t. Moving to San Diego has been such an adventure and a learning experience. Plus, you get to tan in February. I hope this helped. Love.
My take.
Hello! This is my favorite question. It won’t take me long to answer, and I also recently uploaded a Tik Tok on how I started this whole thing up. Honestly it comes down to finding your niche. I truly believe that if you are passionate about a broad topic, or even just have a passion to write, you can do it. I started this all by having a lot of free time! I was lonely being in San Diego, and this was something to fill my time and build my portfolio. I made a Pinterest board full of photos that inspired me and just started writing. Topics were easily flowing to me because I was so excited to get all of this out to you guys. My favorite part of all of this is being able to be completely authentic here. Knowing that I can write how I please, and people who like it, do, and people who aren’t in favor of it, don’t have to be here. It is like my own personal diary.
